Cullen Diesel Power is Hiring
Cullen Diesel Power Cranbrook, BC is seeking to hire 2 experienced Heavy Equipment / Diesel Engine Technicians as residents in the Elk Valley.
Position Overview
We are looking for highly motivated professionals who take pride in their workmanship, customer service, and teamwork. Successful candidates must be able to diagnose mechanical and electronic issues efficiently, provide accurate repair recommendations, and maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively are considered equally important as technical ability. The successful Candidates will be required to reside in the Elk Valley.
Full-time | Rotating Shift Schedule
- 4 days on / 4 days off
- 12-hour shifts
- Rotating day/night shifts
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have:
· Experience working in a mining environment
- Extensive heavy truck and mining equipment experience
- Experience with Series 60 and Daimler DD15/DD16 engines
- Caterpillar and Cummins engine and electronic diagnostic experience
- MTU Series 2000/4000 engine and electronic experience
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and professionalism
- A willingness to mentor and support apprentices and junior technicians
Skills and Abilities
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills on engines, electronics, and truck chassis systems
- The ability to learn and become proficient on new Daimler engine products and MTU 2000/4000 engine platforms
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities with minimal supervision
- The ability to achieve and maintain established flat-rate repair times
- Proficiency or willingness to become proficient with Allison transmissions and electronic systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with diagnostic software, electronic service tools, and standard business applications
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team environment
- Leadership qualities and a willingness to share knowledge and mentor others within the shop
Education and Training
Preferred qualifications include:
· HD Technician Read Seal
- Class 1 Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement
- (Class 3 with Air Brakes will also be considered)
Candidates must also be willing to:
· Complete MTU Web Based Training
· Maintain training certifications in good standing
· The successful candidate will be asked to participate in basic First Aid training
