Part-time - In Field Operations - Vancouver

Job Overview
As a field operations member, you will be responsible for the
ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support of digital and
networking equipment at various venues in Vancouver and surrounding areas.
Utilizing a weekly route sheet (schedule) provided by our Operations Team, you will ensure the operational integrity of venue technologies, including digital tabletops, wall
screens, Android-based tablets, network routers, Wi-Fi extenders, and static
banners. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, network
troubleshooting proficiency, and strong interpersonal skills to maintain and
enhance venue relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on digital tablets and digital wall screens, ensuring optimal performance.
- Transport hardware between warehouse and venues for new installations
- Configure, install, and troubleshoot Wi-Fi networks, including routers, extenders, and other networking devices, to maintain reliable connectivity.
- Perform advanced diagnostics on network performance, addressing issues such as signal interference, IP conflicts, and bandwidth limitations.
- Repair or replace defective components on-site using provided parts or replacement products, ensuring minimal downtime.
Venue Engagement:
- Professionally interact with venue owners and staff to strengthen relationships and ensure satisfaction with Roar’s services.
- Provide clear, concise updates to venue management regarding maintenance activities and issue resolutions.
Inventory & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate inventory records of parts, tools, and replacement products.
- Update maintenance and repair statuses daily via provided reporting tools to ensure transparency and operational efficiency.
Collaboration with Support Teams:
- Escalate complex technical or content-related issues to content or technical support staff, coordinating closely to resolve problems before departing the venue.
- Document unresolved issues thoroughly for follow-up by support teams, ensuring seamless communication.
Job Requirements
Technical Proficiency:
- Basic knowledge of Android, including tablet configuration, app management, and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of Smart TV's
- Basic knowledge in networking technologies, including Wi-Fi router setup, extender configuration, and diagnosing connectivity issues.
- Familiarity with network tools is an asset such as network analyzers, ping/traceroute, and signal strength meters for troubleshooting WiFi and LAN issues.
- Experience with hardware diagnostics and repair is an asset
Professional Skills:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional demeanor suitable for client-facing interactions.
- Fluent in English and French, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Availability & Logistics:
- Must be available during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
- Access to a reliable vehicle is required for travel to venues in Vancouver and to and from the local warehouse
- Must reside in Vancouver or immediate vicinity.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay:
$28.00 per hour
Expected Hours:
20–30 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday (primary)
- Weekends as needed
Summary
As a Part-time - In Field Operations team member, you will play a critical role in
maintaining the technical infrastructure and operational excellence of Roar’s
venues across Vancouver. Reporting to the Operations Director and Coordinator,
you will leverage your technical skills in hardware management,
WiFi network installation, and router/extender troubleshooting to ensure
seamless venue operations. Your ability to diagnose and resolve issues
on-site, combined with your professionalism and customer-focused approach, will
make you an indispensable part of our team. By fostering strong venue
relationships and maintaining high standards, you will contribute directly to
Roar’s reputation for reliability and quality.
Pay: $28.00 per hour
