Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate ECE/IT Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment, fostering student development, and delivering engaging instruction across various subjects. This role requires strong communication skills, classroom management abilities, and a genuine commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal growth.
Duties
- Always maintain positive and friendly relationships with children.
- Staff are responsible for knowing the ratio within the centre and always maintaining proper ratio.
- You are required to take active part in sign-in and out children throughout the day.
- Developing daily program schedules that include indoor/outdoor, and activities.
- Identifies the abilities, interests, and needs of children and develops individualized and group curriculum based on these.
- Reports on progress, behaviors and other issues of both children and families to the director.
- Help each child participate and succeed.
- Develop learning with stories, music, play, field trips, art, drama, and movement that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Plan and organize age-appropriate activities for children
- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- You are required to always keep a well maintained and sanitized centre.
- You are responsible for fully participating in all fire or emergency drills practice. It is your responsibility to read and understand the evacuation procedures for the centre.
- Staff will be asked throughout the year to assist on special occasions and events for children. Staff will be required to assist in the planning, set-up, and cleaning up as well as staffing the event.
- Any incident should be recorded in the logbook including details (when, what, who, why, where).
- Always maintain strict confidentiality of all children and family information.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director.
Skills
- Proficiency in English
- Experience working with children across various age groups, including early childhood education settings
- Knowledge of special education strategies and experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues
- Excellent organizational skills for lesson planning, record keeping, and classroom management
- Computer literacy including basic computer operation and familiarity with educational software applications
- Demonstrated teaching ability with classroom experience preferred
- Effective time management skills to balance instructional duties and administrative tasks
- Leadership qualities to motivate students and manage classroom dynamics effectively
Pay: $17.85-$23.00 per hour
Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Infant and Toddler Certification, First Aid (required)
