Getz Collins & Associates is seeking a dynamic Family Law Lawyer (minimum five-year call) to join our growing team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven, and entrepreneurial lawyer who is passionate about family law and excited by the opportunity to play a meaningful role in expanding and leading the continued growth of our Family Law practice group.

The Opportunity
The successful candidate will manage a broad range of family law matters while contributing to the strategic growth and development of the practice group. We are looking for someone who enjoys building client relationships, mentoring junior team members, and helping shape the future of our Family Law department.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex family law files from commencement through trial or resolution.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, Family Focused Protocol proceedings, chambers applications, trials, and appeals.
- Draft pleadings, affidavits, agreements, briefs, and legal submissions.
- Provide strategic advice regarding parenting, decision-making responsibility, child and spousal support, property division, divorce, and related matters.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service.
- Actively participate in business development, networking, and community engagement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues while helping mentor and support junior lawyers and staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum five-year call and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta;
- Significant experience practicing family law in Alberta;
- Strong knowledge of Alberta family law legislation, court procedures, and litigation practice;
- Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills;
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage a busy practice;
- Exceptional interpersonal and client relationship skills;
- A growth-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in helping expand the firm's Family Law practice.
This position is offered on a competitive fee-split compensation model, providing experienced lawyers with the opportunity to directly benefit from the growth of their practice. Pay: $130,000.00-$160,000.00 per year
