Casual Event Staff
Who are the Wilder?
The Wilder is a social enterprise which creates experiences for people to learn about nature, to connect with each other, and to inspire creativity. We produce events and winter festivals, create art installations and host activations for festivals.
We are looking to expand our roster of casual event production crew in Whistler, Pemberton and Squamish. We are looking for people experienced in event work, production, film, art installation setup, or fabrication/woodworking. Must have event experience, must be willing to work hard setting up events and installations then packing down at the end of the night. Event casual contract crew will have occasional opportunities to work as freelancers on winter, arts and community events on a casual basis. The next event is 1st July in Whistler. We are looking for people available on that day and interested in other work as it arises.
Who are you?
The hours are flexible, require some weekend and evening work, and are very irregular and casual. We expect the candidate/s to work on some or all of the following tasks:
· Setting up installations and activations
· Setting up tents, signage, tables and chairs etc
· Site setup safety management, technical support, troubleshooting, being everywhere at once
We are looking for people who:
· Have a positive and can-do attitude, and are happy to help out wherever. Strong and able to lift heavy items, work hands on
· Have event, building/fabrication, or production or experience relevant to event work
· Are friendly, professional, good work ethic
· Can manage multiple tasks, making sure our events and activations run seamlessly, who can solve problems and adapt on the fly
· Whistler, Pemberton and Squamish candidates only
· Must have availability 1st July already be located in Whistler/Squamish/Pemberton then (no relocation is provided)
Ideal for candidates to have steel-toe boots but not mandatory. Also an asset if you have an up to date first aid certificate.
