Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fleet Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in equip repairs . This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment, including semi trucks, flatbed trailers . The Fleet Mechanic will ensure all machinery operates safely and efficiently, supporting the overall operational needs of our organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles and heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and mechanical knowledge
- Conduct electrical repairs and troubleshooting on industrial equipment
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools to complete repairs
- Operate heavy machinery for testing or troubleshooting purposes when necessary
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities to ensure a safe work environment
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist with assembly or installation of new equipment as needed
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
Skills
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair and industrial equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of , forklift, HVAC systems, welding techniques, electrical systems, and schematics
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on skills using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues accurately using schematics and technical manuals
- Good customer service skills for interactions with internal teams or external clients when necessary
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
