Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join Namaste Bistro Miramichi's team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will support food service operations by ensuring dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized, allowing the culinary team to focus on preparing quality meals for our guests. Previous food industry or restaurant experience is a plus but not required; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are highly valued.
Duties
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety standards
- Assist with meal preparation and food handling as directed by kitchen staff
- Support the cleaning and organization of kitchen stations and storage areas
- Help with basic food prep tasks such as chopping vegetables or assembling ingredients when needed
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area and ensure all sanitation protocols are followed
- Assist in waste disposal and recycling processes to keep the kitchen tidy
- Support the serving staff during busy periods by providing clean dishes and utensils promptly
Skills
- Experience in food service, restaurant, or food industry environments preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic cooking skills or meal preparation experience is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to learn new skills related to kitchen operations and food safety protocols
