Come join our Service Planning and Scheduling team as a Supervisor, Transit Scheduling and be part of a team driving Toronto’s future!
Reporting to the Manager of Transit Scheduling, you will oversee and support the design, preparation, and implementation of schedules, crew guides, systems, and related data for your assigned area. You will ensure that operating schedules and systems are maintained in an efficient and cost‑effective manner, in full compliance with TTC policies and collective agreement provisions. In addition, you will provide guidance to staff, produce reports, manage administrative tasks, and support major system transformation initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing, coordinating, and contributing to the design and preparation of schedules, crew guides, operator sign‑up boards, and related divisional data
- Ensuring schedules are developed efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in compliance with the collective agreement
- Supervising and mentoring Transit Schedule Writers and Trainees, including providing support on complex scheduling and crewing matters
- Communicating the impact of schedule changes on routes and services, and investigating related concerns or complaints
- Acting as the department representative with internal stakeholders and external vendors on technical, system, and divisional projects related to scheduling, crewing, and data analysis
- Supporting and contributing to major technical transformation initiatives, applying supervisory experience in system implementations, process improvements, and change management
- Developing and maintaining training materials and procedures for relevant systems and processes
- Monitoring and evaluating schedules, crew guides, and data analyses to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and cost savings
- Ensuring all required reports from scheduling and crewing systems are accurately produced and validated
- Promoting and supporting a respectful, inclusive, and accessible workplace in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA, and TTC policies, including removing barriers and facilitating accommodations as required.
- The successful candidate will also participate in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program.

- Completion of a post‑secondary college diploma or university degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of the full scheduling process, including experience with legacy computer systems, transit scheduling software, and Microsoft Office. Several years of public transit scheduling experience, with strong skills in computer‑based scheduling tools.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting major systems transformations.
- Ability to prioritize work, delegate tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to use a systematic approach when managing projects and to provide clear progress reports.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal communication, and report writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and guide the work of others to achieve objectives.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, the Ontario Human Rights Code and related requirements, including accessibility and disability accommodation responsibilities for both employees and passengers.
