Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our restaurant team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring that dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly sanitized and available for food preparation and service. The ideal candidate will support the culinary team by assisting with meal preparation, food handling, and maintaining high standards of food safety. Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently to ensure cleanliness and availability for staff.
- Assist with basic meal preparation and food handling tasks as directed by kitchen staff.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen work area, including counters, sinks, and storage spaces.
- Follow proper food safety procedures and sanitation standards at all times.
- Support the food service team during busy periods by helping with serving or other related tasks as needed.
- Ensure all dishware and kitchen tools are stored properly after cleaning.
- Help with inventory management by notifying supervisors of supplies that need replenishing or maintenance issues.
Skills
- Experience in cooking, food preparation, or restaurant operations is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
- Prior food service experience or familiarity with the food industry is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist others in the kitchen.
- Good communication skills to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds when necessary.
