Spiritleaf – Pickering is looking for a passionate and driven Store Manager to lead, inspire, and elevate the retail experience through a forward-thinking approach to cannabis retail. The Challenge
In the role of Store Manager, you will lead the store team in cultivating an exceptional retail environment that surprises and delights customers every time they walk through our doors. We envision someone with strong leadership abilities, operational excellence, business acumen, and a genuine passion for customer service and cannabis education.
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations including team leadership, sales performance, customer experience, inventory management, compliance, scheduling, and staff development.
ResponsibilitiesLEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT
- Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing retail team
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating work environment
- Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor team members
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and support employee development
- Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and customer service excellence
- Conduct team meetings and participate in ongoing staff education
CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
- Create and maintain an exceptional customer-first culture
- Ensure every customer interaction is welcoming, educational, and memorable
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
- Empower team members to make decisions that enhance the customer experience
- Maintain high standards of store presentation and cleanliness
SALES & BUSINESS OPERATIONS
- Drive sales performance and achieve store targets
- Monitor KPIs and implement strategies to improve business results
- Manage labour scheduling and payroll efficiency
- Oversee cash handling procedures and daily financial reporting
- Ensure operational excellence in all areas of the business
INVENTORY & COMPLIANCE
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, receiving, and restocking
- Minimize inventory discrepancies and product loss
- Ensure full compliance with AGCO regulations, provincial legislation, and company policies
- Maintain a safe and secure store environment
- Ensure all staff maintain current CannSell certification requirements
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE
- Maintain strong cannabis product knowledge and stay current on industry trends
- Support brand messaging and customer education initiatives
- Train staff on products, accessories, and responsible cannabis use
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and development
Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail leadership or management experience
- Previous cannabis retail experience considered a strong asset
- Proven success leading teams and delivering exceptional customer experiences
- Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Experience with inventory management and retail operations
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Passion for cannabis and changing the way the world sees cannabis
- A positive attitude with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Must be at least the minimum legal age in Ontario and able to pass a police background check
- Must hold a valid CannSell certification and Qualified Cannabis Worker status
