Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class 1A Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1A commercial trucks to transport freight across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and other critical systems
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles and report any mechanical concerns for timely repairs
Requirements
- Valid Class 1A commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably within freight or logistics sectors
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, such as forklifts and other loading machinery
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols for heavy equipment operation
- Ability to perform basic repairs or troubleshoot mechanical issues as needed
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively
- Physical ability to lift, load, unload, and maneuver freight safely in various conditions
