Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of heavy equipment used in construction and agricultural settings. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, forklift, tractors & implements, among others.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, including engine, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Repair or replace faulty components and parts as needed
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working on equipment
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of power tools and equipment used in heavy equipment repair
- Familiarity with dealership service manuals and diagnostic tools
- Proficient in welding, cutting, and fabrication techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues
- Physically fit with the ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor as required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work performed
Skills:
- Experience working with heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, cranes, etc.
- Knowledge of automotive repair principles
- Proficiency in electrical systems troubleshooting
- Ability to operate power tools and machinery safely
