Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman/woman Automotive Technician to join our reputable dealership team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles with precision and professionalism. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with automotive repair, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A background in dealership service, welding, and schematic reading is highly desirable. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on various vehicle makes and models using advanced tools and equipment
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake replacements, tire rotations, and fluid checks
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
- Assemble or disassemble vehicle components during repairs or upgrades
- Heavy lifting of parts and equipment as needed to facilitate repairs
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and dealership policies
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and addressing customer concerns professionally
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive technician, preferably with dealership background
- Valid mechanic license or certification (e.g., ASE certification) is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds)
- Experience with automotive repair, maintenance, and assembly processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a dynamic environment
