Contour Developments is looking for a dependable and organized Materials & Maintenance Technician to support our construction operations. This position is responsible for maintaining our yard, equipment, tools, vehicles, and construction materials to ensure our crews have everything they need to work safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, takes pride in keeping things organized, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, organize, and maintain inventory of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Load, unload, and prepare materials for delivery to job sites.
- Deliver tools, equipment, and materials to construction sites as required.
- Inspect, clean, service, and perform routine maintenance on construction tools and equipment.
- Complete minor repairs on equipment, trailers, and other company assets.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and arrange repairs with outside service providers when necessary.
- Maintain company vehicles, ensuring they are clean, fueled, inspected, and ready for use.
- Operate company trucks with attached trailers to safely transport construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Operate forklifts, skid steers, telehandlers, and other equipment as required (training provided if necessary).
- Keep the yard, storage areas, and maintenance shop clean, organized, and safe.
- Track inventory levels and notify management when materials or supplies require replenishment.
- Assist with fabricating, repairing, and maintaining temporary structures, concrete forms, storage racks, and other shop projects.
- Perform seasonal yard maintenance, including snow removal and general property upkeep.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Support field crews with miscellaneous labour and logistical tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience in construction, equipment maintenance, warehousing, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence, G endorsement an asset.
- Experience operating skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers or other material handling equipment is an asset.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe workplace.
- Works effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong teamwork and communication skills while supporting field crews and coworkers.
