Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Residential Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of residential construction tasks, including framing, finishing, and installation work. This role requires a strong understanding of building codes, blueprints, and various construction techniques to ensure high-quality craftsmanship on each project. The Residential Carpenter will collaborate with project managers, other tradespeople, and clients to deliver exceptional results that meet safety standards and client specifications.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute projects
- Perform framing, drywall installation, cabinetry, flooring, tile laying, and siding work as needed
- Assist with restoration projects involving roofing
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and efficiently
- Measure and cut materials precisely to specifications using hand tools and measuring devices
- Assist with plumbing, electrical work, caulking, and general handyman tasks when required
- Conduct heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks safely to meet project deadlines
- Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment on-site
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential construction or carpentry with knowledge of woodworking and framing techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction estimating documents
- Familiarity with concrete forming, masonry, roofing, siding installation, and wood flooring
- Experience with cabinetry installation, flooring installation, drywall finishing, and painting is preferred
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and construction tools
- Knowledge of plumbing systems and electrical wiring is a plus
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and working in various weather conditions
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for travel between job sites
- Journeyman ticket is a plus
