Role Overview
At MCI Constructors, the Carpenter is a skilled trade professional responsible for executing a full range of carpentry work across construction projects. This role contributes directly to project quality, safety, and timelines through the application of strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to workmanship standards. The Carpenter works collaboratively with site leadership and other trades to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Carpentry Execution
- Perform rough and finish carpentry in accordance with drawings, specifications, and building codes
- Layout, construct, and install structures and fixtures (walls, floors, doors, ceilings, roofs, etc.)
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials including wood, plastic, and composite materials
- Install specialty finishes and fixtures with precision and care
- Support structural framing, stair construction, and installation of posts and handrails
- Apply working knowledge of related trades (electrical, plumbing, concrete) to support project completion
- Ensure all work meets quality standards, timelines, and client expectations
Quality & Productivity
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and consistency across all tasks
- Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact quality or timelines

Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of a Carpentry Apprenticeship or equivalent experience
- Experience in an ICI construction environment preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in carpentry techniques and applications
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily on active construction sites, which may include both indoor and outdoor environments and exposure to varying weather conditions
- Standard working hours are typically Monday to Friday; however, hours may vary based on project requirements, timelines, and site demands, including occasional overtime
- The role requires frequent physical activity, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy materials, as well as prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing
- Regular use of hand and power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and other construction equipment is required
- Exposure to construction-related hazards such as noise, dust, debris, moving equipment, and uneven surfaces is expected; adherence to all safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory
- Work may involve tasks in confined spaces or at heights, requiring a high level of situational awareness and adherence to safety standards
- Requires sustained focus and attention to detail to ensure accuracy, quality of workmanship, and safe execution of tasks
- The role may involve moderate time pressures related to project deadlines and coordination with other trades on site
