Reporting to the Health Services Manager at the Red Deer Remand, the Clerk IV provides advanced operational, administrative, and information management in a complex correctional health environment. This position coordinates multidisciplinary clinical operations, provincial patient transfers, admissions, discharges and patient care transitions, to ensure continuity of care, timely care delivery and efficient patient movement throughout the health system. The role also provides administrative support to leadership and clinical teams, maintains health records and information management processes, and serves as a key liaison between health care providers, Correctional Service Division partners, and external stakeholders.
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.
