Overview
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Shawarma Maker to join our dynamic food truck team. This role involves preparing authentic shawarma and other menu items, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are maintained. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, experience in the food industry, and strong time management skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Prepare and cook shawarma according to established recipes and food safety guidelines
- Handle food preparation tasks including slicing, marinating, and assembling ingredients
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Serve customers efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor
- Manage cash register transactions accurately, including upselling menu items to increase sales
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the food prep area, utensils, and equipment
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health regulations and sanitation standards
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and ensuring a positive experience
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or food industry preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, especially related to shawarma or similar cuisine
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS and cash handling procedures
- Strong time management skills to handle busy service periods effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude
- Understanding of food safety standards, sanitation, and proper food handling practices
- Basic math skills for cash transactions and inventory counts
- Kitchen experience with an emphasis on cleanliness and organization
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous experience in serving or cashiering is a plus
