Position Title: Elementary K - 5 Music Teacher

Reports to: Vice Principal
Overview: Regent Christian Academy is seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Elementary K - 5 Music Teacher to join our vibrant fine arts team at the Sullivan Campus. In this role, you will inspire a love for music in young learners while fostering a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centred classroom environment. The ideal candidate will combine strong pedagogical skills in early music education with a heart for spiritual mentorship, helping students discover their God-given talents and grow in character and purpose.
Key Responsibilities & Core Competencies:
Instructional Leadership & Curriculum Delivery
- Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate music curricula for Kindergarten through Grade 5 students, incorporating singing, movement, instruments, and music theory.
- Integrate a biblical worldview naturally into daily music lessons, highlighting music as a form of worship and expression of faith.
- Assess and evaluate student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and reporting on student growth to parents and administration.
- Maintain an organized, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that manages student behavior effectively through grace and clear expectations.
Community & Spiritual Mentorship
- Actively mentor students spiritually, modeling Christian character, integrity, and servant-leadership in all interactions.
- Organize and direct elementary music performances, including Christmas concerts, spring productions, chapel worship, and special school events.
- Collaborate effectively with the elementary teaching team, fine arts department, and school administration to support school-wide initiatives and themes.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay: CA $53,000 - 95,000 annually at the determined FTE
- Benefits: Extended Health & Dental, Pension plan available upon eligibility.

Requirements & Qualifications:
Education & Certification
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or a specialized degree in Music Education (or equivalent).
- Must hold, or be eligible for, a valid British Columbia Teaching Certificate through the BC Ministry of Education.
Experience & Skills
- Demonstrated experience teaching music to primary/intermediate elementary-aged children is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in playing the piano or guitar to lead classroom singing and worship is an asset.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and engage with parents.
