POSITION SUMMARY:
Sun Ridge Contracting Ltd. seeks experienced Finish Grade Heavy Equipment Operators for a full-time, project-based role on an active highway construction project, with the opportunity for continued employment for top performers. The successful candidate must be capable of safely operating multiple types of heavy equipment, including graders, excavators, dozers, loaders, packers, and haul trucks. KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate multiple types of heavy equipment, including graders, dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, and other equipment in confined work areas around overhead and underground utilities, structures, personnel, and live traffic
- Perform excavation, production loading, mainline excavation, slope work, and precision finish grading to meet project specifications
- Mechanically inclined and able to complete daily inspections and routine equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of safe rigging and lifting practices; rigging certification considered an asset
- Comply with all company and client safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
- Assist with site preparation and other construction activities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment, including two (2) years of slope and finish grading experience, demonstrating strong finish grading skills and attention to detail
- Strong commitment to safety and safe equipment operation
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence (air brake endorsement an asset)
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Outdoor work in varying weather and site conditions
- Physically demanding work involving lifting, bending, and prolonged standing
- Exposure to heavy equipment, traffic, dust, noise, and uneven terrain
- Overtime, weekends, and night shifts required
- Clean, serviceable PPE is mandatory.

Pay: $36.00-$48.00 per hour
