Reporting to the Centre Director, the Director, Programs provides strategic leadership, oversight, and direction for the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of case management, release planning, programs and services. The role collaborates closely with senior leadership, internal partners, and external stakeholders to ensure case management, release planning and programs are effective, responsive, and aligned with organizational priorities, policy requirements, and best practices. The Director leads a diverse team, drives innovation and operational excellence, and fosters partnerships that support positive outcomes for clients and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the planning, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of programs and services.
Provide strategic leadership and oversight for ensuring case management, release planning and program referrals are occurring through established best practices.
Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support program effectiveness and organizational goals.
Provide expert advice and recommendations to senior leadership on program development, policy implementation, emerging issues, risks, and opportunities.
Drive operational excellence by monitoring program performance, identifying improvements, and implementing innovative solutions.
Ensure programs and services comply with applicable legislation, policies, standards, and best practices.
Represent the organization on committees, working groups, and stakeholder forums, promoting collaboration and strategic partnerships.
To be successful in this role, you must possess strong leadership skills acquired through leading large, complex teams with a specific focus in case management and programming in a correctional, law enforcement or social services environment. You must be motivated to play an active role in the management of the largest remand facility in Canada. Effective networking skills are essential as this position is required to interact daily and maintain positive relationships with law enforcement agencies, other correctional and remand centers, the judiciary, lawyers, service providers and other ministry agents. You must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and must be able to adjust your communication to suit a variety of audiences. Interpersonal skills, decision making skills and problem-solving abilities are critical. The ability to promote staff engagement and lead staff effectively will ensure your success in this role.
