Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Feller Buncher Operator to join our forestry team. This role involves operating heavy machinery to efficiently and safely harvest timber in accordance with industry standards and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, keep a good attitude / be able to be a team player and work well with others. This position offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic setting, contributing to sustainable forestry practices. Work is in the Quesnel and surrounding areas and is often camp oriented.
Responsibilities
- Operate the feller buncher and other related heavy equipment with precision and safety.
- Select and cut trees according to project specifications, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal operation.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on site.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, and safety inspections.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as feller bunchers, bulldozers, or similar machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge related to maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy equipment.
- Valid driver’s license is a Must.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
