Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and personable Bartender to join our vibrant hospitality team! In this role, you will be the face of The Preston Legion, creating memorable experiences for members and guests through exceptional service and expertly crafted beverages. Your enthusiasm, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities will help foster a welcoming atmosphere where members and guests feel valued and eager to return. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your hospitality skills and thrive in a dynamic environment. The hired applicant must be available 2 Saturdays out of the month, available to work Thursday Evenings, Friday nights in the hall for events and the occasional Sunday.
No Phone Calls Please. Must bring your Reseme into the lounge during the hours Monday-Thursday from 1:00pm-6:00pm
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and take drink orders with enthusiasm, ensuring accuracy and prompt service
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Micros POS for order entry, billing, and cash handling
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, adhering to food safety and food handling guidelines
- Manage cash transactions accurately, including cashiering duties and basic math calculations for change
- Ensure responsible serving practices by monitoring guest alcohol consumption and adhering to legal requirements
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service, handle special requests, and resolve any issues efficiently
- Keep track of inventory levels, restock supplies as needed, and assist in maintaining a safe environment for all staff and guests
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or food industry experience preferred; experience as a bartender is highly valued
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Knowledge of Smart Service Certificate, food safety standards, food handling procedures, and responsible serving practices
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy shifts effectively
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing, and inventory management
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive demeanor
- Experience in hospitality or food service environments is a plus; must demonstrate professionalism and teamwork
