Sherwood Marine Centre is looking for an energetic, hardworking Yard Crew Member to join our team in beautiful Saanichton, BC. If you enjoy staying active, learning new skills, and getting your hands dirty in a fast-paced marine environment, this could be the perfect fit.
This isn’t a desk job. Expect fresh ocean air, power tools, forklifts, sanding dust, bottom paint, pressure washers, and a crew that works hard while having a good time doing it.
What You’ll Be Doing
(aka your daily adventures)
- Sanding, prepping, and bottom painting boats
- Assisting with sandblasting and hull preparation projects
- Cleaning and detailing boats for customers and showroom presentation
- Helping maintain and prep boats for sale or customer adventures
- Organizing, moving, and tracking boat inventory
- Assisting with launches, haul-outs, and boat recoveries
- Operating forklifts, trailers, and yard equipment
- Keeping the yard clean, safe, and running smoothly
- Assisting with inventory management and general yard operations
- Working alongside a solid crew to keep everything moving efficiently
What You Bring to the Crew
- Previous boat yard or marine experience is an asset
- Experience with sanding, bottom painting, or marine prep work is a huge bonus
- Comfortable using hand tools and equipment safely
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Positive attitude and team-first mentality
- Ability to lift heavy objects and handle physical outdoor work
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
- Valid driver’s licence required
- Experience with forklifts, trailers, or marine systems is a major asset
