We are seeking tour guides that can bring British Columbia’s history, culture, and natural beauty to life in a way that feels personal, seamless, and worthy of a 5-star review.
We are seeking Mandarin, Arabic, Hindi, French, German, and/or Spanish speaking guides, who are available occasionally to do private tours based on demand. No prior guiding experience required - just a love for this city.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Elevated Private Tours
- Lead private guided tours through Vancouver, Whistler, and Victoria of groups of up to 22
- Deliver polished, engaging commentary over a microphone, bringing BC’s history, culture, landmarks, and hidden gems to life
- Craft an experience that feels personal, memorable, and truly exceptional for every guest
Deliver Exceptional Guest Experience
- Welcome guests from around the world and set the tone for an elevated, seamless journey from the very first hello
- Anticipate needs, pay attention to every detail, and ensure the entire experience reflects our commitment to quality and care
- Adapt your storytelling style and pace to match the interests and energy of each unique group
Ensure Guest Safety
- Conduct clear, engaging safety briefings at the start of every tour
- Respond calmly and professionally to any unexpected situations
- Follow all company emergency procedures and communicate promptly with management and the driver when required
Demonstrate Reliability and Professionalism
- Arrive prepared, on time, and fully ready for every scheduled tour and shift
- Communicate effectively and collaboratively with drivers, team members, and management
- Maintain a polished, positive, and professional attitude while confidently managing guest groups independently
Minimum Requirements
- Genuine passion for Vancouver and British Columbia
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Have lived in the Greater Vancouver area for at least 2–3 years and proudly call yourself a local
- Fluent in English and another language
- A confident, engaging storyteller who is comfortable speaking to groups on a microphone
- Prior guiding, hospitality, or public speaking experience is a bonus, but not required
- Emergency First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain after hiring)
- Responsible, dependable, and professional demeanour
- Flexible availability April through October (hours are demand-driven, with training in April and lighter hours in May, building to peak season in summer and fall)
- Class 4 driver’s license and/or interest in guiding private tours is a strong asset
