Communications Coordinator
Contract Full Time
Duration: Up to (15) Fifteen Months
- Must be flexible to travel periodically
Hybrid (3 Days In-Office Per Week)

37.5 hours/week; Monday to Friday

As a Communications Coordinator, you’ll support the delivery of engaging communication plans and help develop and share content that advances Ornge’s mission of connecting communities to critical care. This hands-on role offers exposure to a wide range of communications activities from storytelling and content creation to coordination, administration, and reporting.

Key Accountabilities :
- Act as the first point of contact for incoming public/staff questions and requests.
- Works closely with other members of the Communications team and in collaboration with internal clients, produces content (e.g. backgrounders, newsletters, brochures, presentations, promotional materials, publications) for various internal and external communication channels, including Ornge’s intranet, external website, social media channels and internal learning platforms. This includes a variety of skills including writing, videography, photography, and multimedia editing.
- Coordinates, schedules, and manages logistics for town halls, and information sessions with internal and external individuals and groups.
- Provides hands-on support for internal and external communications activities such as events, stakeholder outreach, and media relations.
- Ensures departmental communications assets and physical materials are organized and accessible. Supports base staff with shipping, inventory, etc.
- Develops reports on communications activities, monitors media analytics, tracks impact and outcome.
- Produces corporate videos. Works with clients to understand needs and edits video to specifications.
- Writes content for blog and other storytelling opportunities. Researches and synthesizes information from subject matter experts and creates accurate and engaging content reflective of Ornge’s values.
Qualifications:
- A Post secondary degree or diploma in Communication related field of study (Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Marketing, Professional Writing)
- A minimum of 1-2 years of communications related experience.
- Experience with creative digital applications.
- Proficient with design/photo/video applications, i.e. Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
- Strong writing skills and demonstrated ability to provide versatile creative services.
- Collaborative team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
