We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Fleet Maintenance Dispatcher / Maintenance Coordinator to oversee fleet maintenance operations, coordinate repairs, and ensure maximum vehicle availability.
Position Summary
The Fleet Maintenance Dispatcher / Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for managing the maintenance and repair process for our fleet of trucks and trailers. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding maintenance issues, coordinate repairs with in-house mechanics and external service providers, and provide regular updates to management regarding fleet availability and repair status.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and respond to driver calls regarding truck and trailer maintenance issues, breakdowns, and repair requests.
- Maintain accurate records of fleet maintenance schedules, repairs, and vehicle availability.
- Continuously update management on fleet status, including available equipment, vehicles under repair, and anticipated return-to-service timelines.
- Coordinate and prioritize repair work with in-house mechanics to ensure efficient fleet operations.
- Assess maintenance issues and determine repair priorities based on operational requirements.
- Arrange roadside assistance, towing services, and outsourced repairs when vehicles experience issues on the road.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, mechanics, vendors, and management to ensure timely resolution of maintenance concerns.
- Monitor preventative maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with company maintenance standards.
- Source and coordinate with external repair facilities, towing companies, and service providers as required.
- Assist with administrative and office duties, including data entry, record management, reporting, and other operational support tasks.
- Support dispatch and operations teams as needed to maintain smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous experience in fleet maintenance coordination, truck dispatching, transportation operations, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial truck and trailer maintenance and repair processes.
- Ability to diagnose maintenance priorities and communicate effectively with mechanics and drivers.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and transportation management software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred:
- Experience working with heavy-duty trucks and transportation fleets.
- Knowledge of Ontario transportation regulations and preventative maintenance programs.
- Experience coordinating roadside repairs and towing services.

Schedule
- Monday to Friday (Weekends as needed)
- Occasional after-hours availability may be required to assist with urgent fleet issues.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
