Description:
Jackalope is a 30-seat speakeasy hidden inside Rabbit Hole on Sparks Street. Small room, low light, serious drinks. Every seat is close to the bar, so every cocktail gets attention and every guest can watch the work. We're hiring a Lead Mixologist who knows how to own the bar program and run the room from behind the stick.
What you'll do:
- Build and refine the cocktail menu, including seasonal rotations
- Run bar service most evenings as the senior person on the floor
- Manage ordering, inventory, and pour cost without cutting corners on quality
- Set technique and consistency standards
- Handle the prep that makes a speakeasy run: batching, garnish, glassware, station setup
- Build relationships with reps and small distributors to keep the back bar interesting
What we're looking for:
- Strong craft cocktail background, ideally in a busy or high-end bar
- Real spirits knowledge across amari, agave, classic builds, and modern technique
- A track record of being the person other bartenders learn from
- Smart Serve certification
- Available evenings
- Comfortable working in a small room where guests want to talk to you
Helpful but not required:
- WSET or similar formal spirits or wine training
- Experience launching a menu or bar program from scratch
