Accurate Door & Hardware Co. is seeking a skilled Division 8 Estimator / Hardware Specialist to support commercial and multi-family projects by producing accurate, competitive quotations for doors, frames, hardware, and related specialties. In this role, you will review drawings and specifications, complete takeoffs, coordinate pricing and lead times with suppliers, and prepare tender submissions-ensuring scopes, exclusions, and documentation are clear and complete. You'll work closely with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to deliver reliable pricing, manage revisions efficiently, and support a smooth handoff from bid to order.
Key Responsibilities
Review architectural drawings and specifications to complete detailed takeoffs for doors, frames, hardware, and related items.
Prepare estimates, quotations, and tender submissions with clear scope definitions, assumptions, exclusions, and alternates.
Source vendor pricing, confirm lead times, and identify cost-effective options (substitutions/value engineering) while maintaining specification compliance.
Respond to contractor inquiries and support bid clarification throughout the tender period.
Track addenda, revisions, and scope changes; update pricing promptly and accurately.
Maintain organized estimating documentation, including quote logs, revision history, approvals, and bid-to-award handoff notes.
Support internal coordination after award to ensure accuracy of order details and scope continuity.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in estimating, inside sales, or project support within doors/hardware (Division 8 experience strongly preferred).
Proven ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications with strong attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills with consistent follow-through and time management.
Proficiency with Excel; experience with estimating/door scheduling software is an asset.
Professional communication skills and comfort working with contractors, consultants, and vendors.
