Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Technology Delivery, the Project Management Office and Project Delivery Manager, will lead a team that is responsible for Project Management Governance including Executive Reporting on CTB projects and Operational Efficiency initiatives, managing the day to day activities in the PMO, provide guidance on PMO policies and processes, lead a team of project coordinators, Project Manage CTB initiatives as part of a larger Project Management team and collaborate with stakeholders across CTB, Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC) such as, Retail, Petroleum, PartSource, Mark’s and FGL Sports.
In this role, you'll:
Be accountable for the overall management of the CTB project portfolio, including budget management, portfolio planning, and resource allocation.
Facilitate bi-weekly leadership project status review meetings to ensure effective communication and decision-making.
be responsible for developing biweekly reports for the executive team, providing them with comprehensive insights into project progress and performance.
Identify, maintain, update, and create project management methodology, best practices, standards, and processes to ensure consistent and efficient project execution.
Continuously evaluate projects to ensure adherence to project management standards, policies, procedures, budgets, and deadlines.
Ensure that staff members are trained with appropriate skills in project management to provide ongoing expertise and support.
Conduct hiring and staffing of a team of project coordinators to effectively support project delivery.
Provide coaching, mentoring, training, and oversight of project methodology and processes for Project Managers, Sponsors, and other project resources.
Provide a high level of relationship management, conflict resolution, and enable discussions between stakeholders, management, co-workers, and team members.
Provide effective Project Management services in a timely, cost-effective, and high-quality manner on key highly strategic projects using agile/waterfall/hybrid methodologies as needed.
Integrate diverse business processes, cross-functional teams, and external vendors as required for successful project outcomes.
Drive the decision-making process to identify changes, risks, and development mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle. Manage escalations as necessary.
Monitor the progress of delivery by tracking performance indicators (cost, time, quality) and milestones.
Serve as the prime contact for CTB projects with other Business Units and Departments. Engage stakeholders regularly to gather feedback, manage expectations, and ensure alignment.
Lead project/program governance through working committees and steering committees to provide updates, oversight, and guidance on initiatives.
Coordinate and obtain resources across the organization while providing integration expertise for broad cross-functional initiatives. Foster collaboration among large stakeholder teams towards achieving common goals.
Provide postmortem/root cause analysis for issues encountered during projects. Review consolidated postmortem results to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Continuously optimize the project delivery process through implementing best practices.
What you bring
University degree or College diploma in technology or business-related discipline.
Minimum 7-10 years leading complex technology and business projects, programs and portfolios ($1M-$10M).
A professional designation as a PMP (Project Management Professional), CCMP (Certified Change Management Professional) and/or CSM (Certified Scrum Master).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical requirements for non-technical business partners and influence/persuade a different point of view.
Ability to clearly and confidently communicate written and verbal recommendations; articulating risks and trade-offs.
Highly developed presentation skills with experience facilitating meetings and discussions with senior leaders and Executives.
Experience leading projects with 3rd party vendors.
Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver complex projects within budget and timeline constraints.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate cross functional teams.
Excellent relationship management, consulting, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional time management and self-management skills.
