Encon Performance Inc. is seeking an experienced Service Plumber to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing systems and equipment in commercial and residential buildings and facilities. This role requires strong diagnostic ability, knowledge of commercial and residential plumbing systems, and a commitment to safe, code-compliant work. The successful candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and able to work independently while communicating professionally with customers, site contacts, and internal team members.
Key Responsibilities
· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing issues in commercial buildings, including leaks, blockages, fixture failures, water pressure issues, and drainage problems.
· Install, service, and replace piping, valves, fixtures, water heaters, pumps, backflow devices, and related plumbing equipment.
· Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, and system checks to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective action.
· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and site conditions to complete service work accurately and efficiently.
· Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, safety requirements, and company quality standards.
· Prepare clear service notes, work orders, material lists, and recommendations for repairs or replacement.
· Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, tenants, general contractors, and team members regarding job status, findings, and next steps.
· Respond to urgent and emergency service calls as required, including after-hours or on-call work when scheduled.
· Maintain tools, equipment, vehicle stock, and job sites in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
Qualifications
· Journeyperson/Journeywoman Plumber certification or equivalent plumbing trade qualification preferred.
· Several years of commercial service plumbing experience, including diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and retrofit work.
· Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems, drainage, water distribution, fixtures, and mechanical room equipment.
· Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and safety requirements in British Columbia.
· Strong problem-solving, time management, and customer service skills.
· Experience using common plumbing tools, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools safely.
· Backflow certification, gas fitting experience, cross-connection knowledge, or related certifications are considered assets, if applicable to the role.
· Position requires lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, working in tight spaces, and standing for extended periods.
