Job Opportunity: 1:1 Recreational Support Worker Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Location: Kitchener-Waterloo Wage: $23 per hour to start - Discussion of wage change to be had after 3 months probationary period We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dependable Recreational Support Worker to provide one-on-one support for a 31-year-old woman with physical and developmental disabilities. About the Individual: She is happy and healthy, she has cerebral palsy, is non-verbal, immobile, and uses a wheelchair. She requires full support with all personal care needs, including feeding and hygiene. She is social and enjoys activities that foster connection and creativity. Your Role Will Include: - Planning and facilitating engaging recreational, sensory, and social activities (e.g., music therapy, art, swimming, walking/exercise, outings, etc.) - Providing companionship and emotional support - Assisting with feeding, hygiene, and other personal care needs - Supporting her participation in community programs and events - Collaborating with her family and care team to ensure consistency and person-centered support - Maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment We’re Looking For Someone Who: - Has experience in personal support, therapeutic recreation, or working with individuals with disabilities - Is comfortable providing full personal care - Is patient, creative, and self-directed - Communicates effectively and enjoys working collaboratively - Has a genuine passion for inclusion, care, and quality of life Requirements: - Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within 6 months) - CPR/First Aid certification - Valid driver’s license To Apply: Please email your resume and a brief cover letter noting your interest, experience and availability to [email protected] We look forward to hearing from you
