Overview
Windsor/Essex CPR & First Aid Training Inc. is seeking enthusiastic and responsible Youth Leaders to facilitate Babysitting and Stay Safe courses for youth participants. This role involves engaging with young learners, delivering educational content, and fostering a safe and supportive environment. Ideal candidates are passionate about teaching, possess strong communication skills, and have experience working with children or in classroom settings. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills while contributing to community safety education.
Duties
- Lead and facilitate Babysitting and Stay Safe courses for youth participants, ensuring content is engaging and age-appropriate
- Prepare lesson plans in accordance with Red Cross standards
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages participation and confidence among students
- Monitor participant progress and provide constructive feedback
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during courses, maintaining a safe environment for all attendees
Skills
- Canadian Red Cross Youth Leader certificate required
- Strong tutoring or teaching experience, preferably with children or youth audiences
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey safety information and instructions
- Classroom experience or background in education is a plus
- Ability to engage young learners through interactive teaching methods
- Responsible, organized, and able to manage group dynamics effectively
- Passionate about community service, safety education, and youth development
