POSITION SUMMARY
The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Sanitation Team and ensuring the facility maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. They implement sanitation procedures, train staff, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision & Coordination
- Supervise sanitation employees in their assigned work duties, ensuring efficiency and quality.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of equipment and machinery.
- Co-ordinate and inspect cleaning of lines during changeovers and downtime to prevent contamination.
- Ensure sanitation employees adhere to all safety procedures, handling chemicals and equipment properly.
- Co-ordinate and supervise temporary employees, providing training in procedures and safety guidelines.
- Back up the Sanitation Manager in their absence.
Sanitation Work Orders & Scheduling
- Ensure sanitation work orders are completed per the master cleaning schedule.
- Complete and review department-related documents.
- Survey grounds and premises for jobs needing immediate attention and schedule necessary labor.
Audits, Inspections & Compliance
- Conduct sanitation audits, reporting non-compliance and department weaknesses to the Sanitation Manager.
- Perform pest control inspections and report conditions that could allow pests to enter or be harbored.
- Conduct GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) checks and report deviations in procedures or protocols.
- Inspect storage areas, ensuring raw and finished goods are stored properly to prevent contamination.
- Continuously make rounds, inspecting plant and equipment cleanliness.
- Identify and direct sanitation personnel to incomplete or delinquent tasks. If poor performance persists, document and report to the Sanitation Manager.
Training & Documentation
- Train sanitation personnel on proper sanitation procedures, safety practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of sanitation activities, audits, inventory, and corrective actions.
Equipment & Inventory Management
- Ensure sanitation equipment is cared for properly and maintained regularly.
- Conduct inventory of sanitation supplies and report necessary replacements or refills to the Sanitation Manager.
- Report any issues preventing equipment from being properly cleaned and sanitized.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma required
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity or role in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and Food Safety
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of operating sanitation equipment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards

- Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be comfortable working in a hot environment (Bakery floor)
- Requires standing for extended periods and overseeing fast-paced production operations
- Flexible to work any shift including nights and weekends
