Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated SAT & SSAT Verbal Teacher to inspire and guide students preparing for standardized tests. In this role, you will deliver engaging verbal instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student, fostering their critical thinking, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. Your enthusiasm for teaching combined with your expertise in test preparation will help students achieve their academic goals and build confidence.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans focused on verbal reasoning, vocabulary building, reading comprehension, and writing skills aligned with SAT & SSAT standards.
- Deliver engaging classroom or virtual lessons that incorporate diverse teaching methods, including presentations, discussions, and interactive activities.
- Assess students’ current verbal skills through diagnostic tests and tailor instruction to address individual strengths and areas for improvement.
- Utilize learning technology tools to enhance lesson delivery, track student progress, and provide personalized feedback.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to active participation and growth.
- Prepare students for test day by teaching test-taking strategies, time management techniques, and practice exams that simulate real test conditions.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, or educational coordinators to communicate student progress and recommend targeted support strategies.
Experience
- Strong background in tutoring or coaching students for standardized tests such as the SAT or SSAT, with demonstrable success in improving scores.
- Familiarity with curriculum development tailored to standardized testing requirements and adult education principles.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to clearly convey complex concepts in an accessible manner.
- Strong writing skills demonstrated through lesson planning, instructional materials development, and student feedback documentation.
Pay: $25.00-$50.00 per hour
