Current Opportunities
3 month FT contract
(12-hour shifts, 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM)
- Overnight shifts,
- Rotation across children’s respite, adult respite, and supported living programs

Role Overview
Registered Practical Nurses at the Ottawa Rotary Home are fully integrated members of the support team, working collaboratively with Developmental Support Workers to provide holistic, person-centered care.
This role combines nursing knowledge with active participation in daily supports. Nurses share in the responsibilities of the home environment while also applying their nursing expertise to health monitoring, clinical decision-making, and the care of individuals with more complex medical needs.
Work Environment
This position is based in home-like support settings. The pace, routines, and interactions differ from acute care environments, with a strong emphasis on continuity, relationship-building, and individualized support.
Nurses working in this setting are comfortable adapting to varying daily routines and contributing to a collaborative, person-centered environment that reflects the nature of respite and supported living programs.
Qualifications
- Current registration and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Current CPR Certification
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
Financial Incentive for Eligible Nurses
New graduates, nurses returning to practice, or nurses newly registered in Ontario may be eligible for the $25,000 Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN)
