Oak Medical Pharmacy - Mountdale Clinic is looking for a Part-Time Pharmacist to join our community pharmacy team in Thunder Bay.
We are a locally owned independent pharmacy located within a medical clinic setting. Our pharmacy focuses on patient relationships, practical clinical care, and strong collaboration with nearby health care providers. We are looking for a pharmacist who is professional, approachable, dependable, and comfortable working in a busy community pharmacy environment.
This position is well suited for someone who enjoys direct patient care, values accuracy and safety, and wants to practise in a supportive independent pharmacy setting.
About the Role
As the pharmacist on duty, you will be responsible for providing safe and effective pharmacy care while supporting the daily workflow of the dispensary. This includes prescription assessment, medication counselling, professional services, communication with prescribers, and oversight of pharmacy operations during your shift.
The role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work well with pharmacy technicians, assistants, patients, and other health care professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, safety, accuracy, interactions, allergies, contraindications, and patient-specific concerns
- Providing clear and practical counselling on prescription medications, non-prescription products, adherence, storage, monitoring, and expected outcomes
- Delivering professional pharmacy services such as medication reviews, care plans, follow-up, chronic disease support, minor ailment assessments, renewals, adaptations, injections, and other services within scope
- Administering vaccines and other approved injections in accordance with Ontario standards
- Communicating with physicians, nurses, and other health care providers to resolve drug therapy issues and support patient care
- Documenting clinical services, interventions, follow-up, and other required records accurately and efficiently
- Supporting safe and efficient dispensary workflow, including final checks, prioritizing prescriptions, and assisting team members as needed
- Providing oversight and guidance to pharmacy assistants, technicians, and students
- Maintaining professional, legal, privacy, narcotic, controlled substance, and regulatory requirements
- Contributing to a clean, organized, respectful, and patient-focused work environment
Qualifications
- Licensed pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Injection certification required
- Community pharmacy experience preferred
- Kroll experience considered an asset
- Genuine interest in patient care and community pharmacy practice

Pay: $68.00-$75.00 per hour
