The Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre (CACAC) is a not-for-profit organization, governed by a board of directors that works in an integrative partnership with the Central Region Child and Family Services, Alberta Health Services, Alberta Education, Alberta Justice, Sendero Centre and the RCMP to better service children, youth and families impacted by sexual abuse and the most serious/complex cases of physical abuse and neglect.
Position Summary
The Facility Attendant is responsible for maintaining janitorial, cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff, clients, and visitors throughout our multi-floor facility, including office spaces, common areas, meeting rooms and washrooms at the Sheldon Kennedy Centre of Excellence. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys independent responsibilities, and values contributing to a professional and community-focused environment. may include evening and weekend shifts when required
Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize offices, common areas, kitchens, meeting rooms and high-traffic spaces
- Vacuum, sweep and mop floors throughout the facility
- Dust surfaces, furniture, vents and fixtures
- Empty garbage and recycling bins and transport waste to designated disposal areas
- Replenish paper products, soap and cleaning supplies throughout the building
- Clean and sanitize washrooms on all floors
- Restock washroom supplies regularly
- Ensure washrooms remain clean, safe and presentable at all times
- Clean designated office spaces after regular business hours
- Ensure confidentiality and professionalism while working in occupied professional environments
- Secure spaces appropriately after cleaning is complete
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
- Safely use and maintain cleaning equipment and products
- Report maintenance concerns, damages or supply shortages promptly
- Assist with occasional setup or cleanup for meetings and events as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience is an asset
- Knowledge of cleaning supplies, equipment, and safety practices
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage time effectively
- Physical ability to perform required cleaning duties
- Ability to provide a criminal record check
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with variable hours
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Schedule: Full time and part time positions available.
