Foremost has an immediate opening for a Sandblaster on the evening shift, located at our facility in Stettler, Alberta. Reporting into our Paint Foreman, you will be responsible for sandblasting our Hydrovac product line. This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odours, fumes and oils.
Key Responsibilities
- Conform to quality control standards and constructions specifications, drawings, sketches, layout boards, etc., and/or verbal instructions
- Operate and service all equipment associated with sandblasting
- Use sandblasting equipment with specific media
- Prepare components to be protected from abrasives
- Read, understand and follow working instructions/directions, policies and procedures
- Attend production meetings daily, report status of jobs in progress and upcoming production plans
- Maintain frequent contract with QC and Production to ensure all blasting requirements are met
- Follow the company safe work procedures and legislated safety requirements
- Comply with all WHMIS and environmental regulations regarding the storage, use and disposal of hazardous chemicals
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Sandblasting experience an asset
- Ability to calculate values in Metric and Imperial
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to give and take clear direction ; verbal and written
- Detailed oriented and willing to function as part of a highly motivated team
- WHIMS, Fall Protection and Confined Space training
