We are currently looking for an experienced and dependable Construction Foreman to join our team in Vernon, BC, supporting the construction of the Okanagan Gondola
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who is comfortable taking responsibility for day-to-day site activities while also being willing to jump in wherever needed to keep the project moving.
Position Overview
The Construction Foreman will work closely with the Site Superintendent and Project Management team to support daily site operations, trade coordination, site safety, housekeeping, and general construction activities.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the day-to-day details of an active construction site. This includes conducting site orientations, assisting with safety-related requirements, coordinating site activities, maintaining an organized work environment, and performing general labour as required.
This is not strictly a supervisory position. The successful candidate must be willing and able to work alongside the team and assist with general labour and construction activities when required.
A formal Construction Safety Officer (CSO) designation is not required, but a strong working knowledge of construction safety practices and site requirements is important.
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Coordination & Foreman Duties
- Support the Site Superintendent with the coordination of daily construction activities.
- Assist with coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, deliveries, and site personnel.
- Help communicate daily priorities and upcoming work to trades and site personnel.
- Monitor work areas and help identify issues that could affect safety, quality, or schedule.
- Assist with coordinating access, staging, deliveries, material storage, and general site logistics.
- Maintain regular communication with the Site Superintendent regarding site progress, concerns, and upcoming requirements.
- Help ensure subcontractors and workers are following site procedures and project expectations.
- Assist with opening, securing, and maintaining the construction site as required.
Site Orientations & Safety
- Conduct site orientations for new workers, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Assist with maintaining orientation records and other required site documentation.
- Support the Site Superintendent with daily safety requirements and site safety procedures.
- Participate in and/or assist with toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Help ensure workers and subcontractors are following site-specific safety requirements.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or activities and assist with having them corrected.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of general construction safety practices and requirements.
- Assist with inspections, documentation, signage, barricades, and other safety-related site requirements as needed.
- Promote a positive and practical safety culture throughout the project.
A CSO designation is not required for this position; however, previous experience with construction site safety and a good understanding of safe work practices is required.
General Labour & Site Maintenance
- Perform general construction labour as required.
- Assist with site cleanup and maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Move, organize, and distribute materials around the site.
- Assist trades and the site team with miscellaneous construction activities.
- Install temporary protection, signage, barricades, fencing, and other site requirements.
- Assist with snow removal, weather protection, site access, and seasonal requirements when necessary.
- Help maintain tools, equipment, storage areas, and common site facilities.
- Be willing to jump in wherever needed to help keep the project moving efficiently.
Equipment Operation
- Operate construction equipment where qualified and required.
- Telehandler experience and certification is considered a strong asset.
- Assist with unloading deliveries, moving materials, and staging equipment where appropriately trained.
- Perform daily equipment checks and ensure equipment is operated safely and responsibly.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Construction Foreman, Lead Hand, Assistant Superintendent, or in a similar hands-on construction role.
- Strong general construction knowledge and practical site experience.
- Experience working on commercial, multi-family, or larger construction projects is considered an asset.
- Good understanding of construction site safety practices and requirements.
- Experience conducting worker and subcontractor site orientations is an asset.
- Ability and willingness to perform general labour and physically demanding construction tasks.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors, workers, suppliers, and management.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify issues and bring them forward before they impact the project.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
Certifications & Additional Assets
The following are considered assets:
- Telehandler certification and operating experience.
- First Aid certification.
- Fall Protection training.
- WHMIS certification.
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) or equivalent training.
- Experience with site safety documentation and inspections.
- Previous supervisory or foreman experience.

Location & Project Assignment:
The successful candidate will work primarily on site and will be an important part of the day-to-day construction team, working closely with the Site Superintendent and Project Management team.
