Building Exteriors – Carpenter Foreman

Position Overview
North X Building Exteriors is seeking an experienced and motivated Carpenter Foreman to lead exterior building envelope installations on commercial and residential projects. The successful candidate will oversee on-site crews, coordinate with other trades, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical knowledge of exterior systems and the ability to manage a small crew while maintaining productivity and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Installation Management
- Coordinate and install roll-on and sheet-applied vapor barriers, transition membranes, air barriers, and related building envelope systems
- Install girts, various siding systems, metal cladding, soffits, and other exterior finishes
- Perform and oversee foundation waterproofing installations
- Operate and utilize a sheet metal brake for fabrication and custom flashing work
- Ensure all installations meet project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and building codes
Crew Leadership
- Supervise and lead a crew of 2–5 workers
- Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity
- Provide hands-on training and mentorship to crew members
- Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented job site environment
Coordination & Communication
- Plan and coordinate building envelope completion with other subcontractors and the general contractor
- Participate in site meetings as required
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
- Identify and resolve job site challenges proactively
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies and site-specific safety procedures
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OH&S regulations
- Conduct toolbox talks and maintain a clean and organized work site
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in exterior cladding, carpentry, or building envelope systems
- Previous foreman or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong understanding of air/vapor barrier systems and exterior cladding installation
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Experience using a sheet metal brake
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Fall protection and other safety certifications (considered an asset)

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
