About the Role
We are looking for a highly organized, hands-on Laboratory Technician to support our research and product development team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced laboratory, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and is excited to help build new technologies from the ground up.
You will work alongside scientists and engineers performing molecular biology experiments, preparing reagents, operating laboratory equipment, documenting results, and maintaining an exceptionally organized laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Prepare reagents, buffers, media, and laboratory consumables
- Perform DNA and RNA extraction
- Assist with PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, LAMP, and sequencing workflows
- Prepare samples and operate laboratory instrumentation
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and electronic records
- Perform routine quality control and verification testing
- Label, organize, and manage laboratory inventory
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Assist scientists with experimental setup and execution
- Package and prepare samples for shipment when required
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and SOPs
- Support continuous improvement of laboratory processes
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
- 1–3 years of laboratory experience preferred (co-op and internship experience welcomed)
- Experience with molecular biology techniques is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Comfortable working with repetitive laboratory procedures while maintaining high accuracy
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn

- Nucleic acid extraction
- Oxford Nanopore sequencing
- Gel electrophoresis
- Pipetting and liquid handling
