Our growing engineering business is looking for a Civil Engineering Field Technician who can help us create a more productive work environment while ensuring that our clients get the support & testing they need. The ideal candidate for this position is an organized, detail-oriented individual who is able to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment. Job Duties
- Provide Technical Assistance in materials engineering and testing related projects and tasks, including field testing of various materials on construction sites and utilizing a nuclear densometer gauge
- Maintenance and clean-up of all tools and equipment, ensuring the proper functionality and accuracy of equipment along with a tidy working area
- Prepare reports in line with established laboratory and field procedures
- Assist with job-site administration duties, such as timesheet completion, and any daily logs or site visit reports that are required
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, proper PPE and Soil-Mat's policies and procedures
Job Requirements
- Civil Engineering Technician/Technologist college graduate is preferred but not required
- Construction related experience an asset
- Valid driver's licence, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle required
- Basic understanding of Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, with proficient organizational skills
- A team player with strong leadership skills, who can excel in a fast paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and the ability to listen, learn, and apply new knowledge
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, carry equipment, walk, and stand for long periods of time on an active construction site [some moderate lifting will be required]
Mileage compensation $0.67/km; monthly cell phone allowance

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
