Overview
The successful Designer is fluent at guiding a client to the optimal solution that fits their needs and their budget. At Kingston Frameworks, we offer many Fine Art Services to our clients to help them with all their art needs. As a part of the Sales team, you are the face of the company, so you must educate clients with value-building language.
Duties
- Conduct Design Appointments with clients from pre-booked and walk-in traffic, typically 15 – 30 minutes, can be longer when working on multiple pieces
- Learn the technical and archival needs of different mediums (oils, textiles, photography, memorabilia) to recommend the right framing, printing, mounting, or restoration services.
- Learn and know the needs of different forms of art and other objects for frame design, printing, mounting and other practical services
- Act as the primary point of contact, handling incoming phone and email inquiries with warmth and professionalism.
- Document precise work orders and client notes in our ERP database, translating the design vision into clean, flawless instructions for our back-of-house production team.
- Keep the showroom, design counters, and gallery spaces looking pristine, inspiring, and organized.
Skills
- Enjoy working with people, have a positive attitude towards both customers and teammates
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is a must. You know how to confidently close a sale while prioritizing the client's best interest.
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented, basic math functions and precise measuring required for all projects
- Strong problem-solving skills; we see unique, custom objects every day, so no two projects are identical.
- A strong creative eye for color, proportion, and balance. Experience in the arts/design world (Fine Art, photography, interior design, gallery work, etc.) is a major asset.
- Post-secondary education is preffered
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods at the design counter.
- Comfortable carefully handling fragile, high-value artwork.
- Ability to safely lift up to 30 lbs (large framed pieces, glass boxes, or material deliveries).
Hours
To begin, this is a part-time position with a view towards full-time. Part-time will consist of 3 – 4 days a week for 4 – 8 hours per day. Shifts will be Monday through Saturday, you must be available to work on weekends.

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
