Position
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will operate equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. You will be responsible for the function of operating and basic maintenance of the equipment while on the job site. As the Equipment Operator, you will also be required to follow all policies and procedures and legislation required to operate the equipment safety.
This position will be Monday-Friday position; however, the candidate must be willing to work overtime if needed.
This position will be located at Rocanville, SK.
Job Duties
- Operate a variety of equipment (loader, excavator, grader, dozer) and other equipment as trained
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
- Inspect equipment on a regular basis, pre and post operating
- Communicate any unsafe conditions or wear and/or damage of equipment to supervisor in order to facilitate corrective action
Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations
Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in written form
Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems
Laborer duties will be required as needed to assist on site
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have;
- Strong knowledge in operation of equipment
- Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance
- 1A Driver’s License is preferred but not required
- Heavy Equipment Certificate is an asset
- Effective self-managing, good problem-solving skills, planning, organizing and priority setting skills combined with a strong work ethic
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be open and flexible to change, take initiative
- Pre-employment medical exam and drug test will be required.
