Job Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Machinist with aerospace experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes to produce complex components with tight tolerances.
This role requires strong technical expertise in machining processes, blueprint reading, and quality standards, with a focus on precision and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, program (as required), and operate CNC mills and lathes
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications
- Machine aerospace components to precise tolerances and specifications
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
- Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize processes for efficiency
- Maintain equipment and ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Adhere to all quality standards and aerospace compliance requirements
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Certified Machinist (Journeyman or equivalent preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of machining experience (preferred)
- Strong experience with CNC milling and turning (3-, 4-, or 5-axis is an asset)
- Proficiency in conventional machining techniques
- Strong knowledge of G-code and/or conversational programming
- Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, CMM, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T
- Experience machining aerospace materials (e.g., titanium, Inconel, aluminum alloys)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CAD/CAM software
- Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality systems
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
