The Labourer supports daily industrial and construction activities by assisting tradespeople, handling materials, maintaining clean and organized work areas, and completing general labour duties as assigned.
When designated and properly trained, the Labourer may also perform Fire Watch or Confined Space Safety Watch duties. In this capacity, they will monitor work activities, maintain required records, identify changing hazards, communicate with workers and supervisors, and initiate the site’s emergency response procedures when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general labour duties, including material handling, site cleanup, equipment preparation, and assisting tradespeople.
- Participate in daily tailgate meetings, hazard assessments, and other required safety meetings.
- Follow all company, client, and site-specific policies and safe work procedures.
- Wear and properly maintain all required personal protective equipment.
- Use hand and power tools safely, when trained and authorized.
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment, behaviours, incidents, and near misses.
- Stop work and notify the appropriate supervisor when unsafe conditions are identified.
- Perform Fire Watch duties when trained and assigned, including:
- Monitoring hot work and the surrounding area for fire hazards.
- Ensuring appropriate fire-extinguishing equipment is readily available.
- Remaining in the designated area for the required monitoring period.
- Initiating emergency procedures and notifying the supervisor if a fire or other unsafe condition occurs.
- Perform Confined Space Safety Watch duties when trained and assigned, including:
- Maintaining an accurate entry and exit log.
- Maintaining communication with workers inside the confined space.
- Monitoring conditions in and around the confined space.
- Preventing unauthorized entry.
- Initiating emergency procedures when required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
