General Overview
Nerva Energy, a leader in delivering property technology solutions that create high-performance, smart buildings, is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial building retrofit projects in Ottawa.
This role involves managing projects that include building automation systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), pumps, fans, air handlers, energy recovery systems, and district energy connections. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure all work aligns with Nerva’s strategy, commitments, and goals.
Project Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, execution, and completion of retrofit projects in commercial buildings.
- Manage subcontractors, technicians, and engineering staff to deliver on time and on budget.
- Coordinate with clients, building operators, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress, resolve challenges, and provide regular status updates and reports.
- Ensure quality assurance, commissioning, and regulatory compliance for all retrofit projects.
- Lead health and safety practices on-site, ensuring adherence to applicable codes and standards.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required).
- 2–5 years of project management experience in building systems, retrofits, or related fields.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation and/or PMP certification (preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC equipment, and energy recovery technologies.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Nerva Energy’s head office in Hamilton (including initial training period).
- Ottawa-based, with flexibility for occasional work from home.

What the Job Offers
- Competitive annual salary: $60,000 – $80,000 (commensurate with experience).
