Customer Support & Field Service Technician

UniTrak is seeking a Field Service Technician to support equipment commissioning, technical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and customer support activities across our installed base.
This is a highly customer-facing role that requires professionalism, communication skills, technical aptitude, and a strong sense of ownership. The successful candidate will work directly with customer operators, maintenance teams, engineers, plant managers, and business owners, serving as a representative of UniTrak both onsite and remotely.
At UniTrak, no two weeks are the same. One day you may be supporting a food manufacturer, and the next you could be troubleshooting equipment in a chemical plant, plastics facility, or agricultural processing operation. Our equipment is used across a wide variety of industrial manufacturing processes, giving technicians exposure to many different production environments and applications.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a professional and positive customer experience during every interaction
- Build strong relationships with customer operators, maintenance personnel, engineers, and management teams
- Communicate technical issues and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Identify opportunities for replacement parts, upgrades, and additional service support
- Perform onsite service visits, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities
- Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting assistance
- Complete service documentation and reports accurately and on time
- Assist with operator training during commissioning and startup
- Gather customer feedback and communicate improvement opportunities internally
- Work closely with Engineering and Operations to improve equipment reliability, serviceability, and customer experience
Technical Experience and Skills
Preferred experience includes:
- Customer-facing field service or technical support
- PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Motor controls and electrical troubleshooting
- Industrial equipment installation, commissioning, and repair
- Industrial automation systems
Experience working with industrial process equipment is considered an asset.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education, apprenticeship, trade certification, or equivalent work experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Previous industrial, maintenance, technical support, or field service experience preferred
Travel Requirements
- Approximately 20% travel required
- Travel throughout Canada, the United States, and occasionally internationally
- Valid passport required for international travel
