Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Painter and Decorator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming spaces through expert painting, decorating, and surface finishing techniques. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Execute precise painting and decorating tasks across various surfaces using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and power tools.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately follow project specifications.
- Apply finishes including wallpapering, staining, varnishing, and specialty coatings for both interior and exterior projects.
- Use hand tools and rigging equipment safely and efficiently during surface preparation and application processes.
- Perform restoration work on older structures by matching existing finishes and adhering to preservation standards.
- Collaborate with carpenters, construction teams, and clients to ensure project timelines are met while maintaining excellent customer service.
Skills
- Proven construction experience with a focus on painting and decorating techniques.
- Strong knowledge of construction painting, industrial painting, and restoration processes.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions accurately.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, rigging equipment, and other relevant hardware safely.
- Experience with residential and commercial painting projects with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with schematics for industrial systems or specialized coatings is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and clients.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently across multiple projects.
